Is my appliance worth repairing?
Give the brand, model and rough age, and describe the symptom — what it does, what it stopped doing, any error code on the display. The techs who offer will tell you straight when a repair doesn't stack up against replacement; you're never obliged to book.
Why do you keep asking for the rating plate?
The rating plate (the sticker with the model and serial number, usually inside the door or on the back) is how a tech identifies your exact machine and checks parts before quoting. One photo of it can be the difference between a locked offer and a vague "depends what we find".
My oven is hardwired — is that still an appliance repair?
Work on the appliance itself is appliance repair; work on the fixed wiring that feeds it is licensed electrical work. You don't need to know the boundary — describe the fault and HaT routes it to the right trade, including when a job genuinely needs both.
What about my fridge?
Fridges and freezers sit under HaT's fridges and air conditioning trade, because sealed-system work involves refrigerant and needs an ARC licence. Just describe the problem — routing to the right trade is HaT's job, not yours.
