Book a verified electrician in Canberra
Every electrician on HaT holds a checked electrical licence. Describe the fault once, compare sealed offers with locked prices, and pay only when the work is done.
How it works
- 1
Describe it once
Tell HaT what's going on like you'd tell a mate — photos help. The AI scopes the job properly so you never repeat yourself to five different people.
- 2
Sealed offers come to you
Verified locals send real offers with locked prices. Bids are sealed — no one sees anyone else's — so what you compare is what they'll actually charge.
- 3
Pay when it's done
Your payment is held safely by HaT and released when the work is complete. If something isn't right, you can raise a dispute before any money moves.

Who you're booking
Electrician is a licensed trade. Every sparkie on HaT is ID- and ABN-verified, and their electrical licence is checked against the relevant register before they can send you an offer — and the badge expires when the licence does. Tradies with current public liability cover carry a separate verified Insured badge.

Honest prices, not guesses
Offers on HaT are sealed: each tradie commits a real price without seeing anyone else's, so what you compare is what they'll actually charge — locked when you book, held safely until the work is done.

Electrician questions, answered plainly
Do I need a licensed electrician for small jobs?
Yes. In the ACT, electrical work — even replacing a power point or light switch — must legally be done by a licensed electrician; DIY electrical work is illegal and can void your home insurance. Every electrician on HaT has their licence checked against the register before they can send you an offer.
My safety switch keeps tripping — what should I put in the job?
Describe what actually happens: which circuits go out, whether it trips straight after you reset it, and what appliances were running at the time. A photo of your switchboard helps. You don't need to diagnose it — the electrician does that; your job is just to describe the symptoms.
Can I get an electrician today?
When you post, you set the urgency — emergency, today, or this week — and available electricians see it immediately. Whether someone can come depends on who's free, but you'll be comparing real committed offers with locked prices, not callback promises.
Will the price change once they see the job?
The offer you accept is a locked price. If a tradie thinks something extra might be needed, it appears as a priced conditional in the offer — visible before you book. Any genuinely unexpected extra work mid-job has to be approved by you in the app, with a photo and a price, before it happens.
