What should I measure before posting?
Rough length and width of the area (pacing it out is fine), what's there now — dirt, old concrete, pavers — and photos from a couple of angles. If old concrete needs breaking up and carting away, say so; removal is a real part of the job and honest offers price it upfront.
How long before I can walk or drive on new concrete?
As a rule of thumb, foot traffic is a day or two and vehicles need much longer — often around a week — but it depends on the mix, thickness and weather. Your concreter gives you the real numbers for your slab; follow theirs, not the internet's.
Can weather delay the job?
Yes, and a concreter who won't pour in the rain or a frost is doing it right, not dodging you — Canberra winters are genuinely frosty. Dates get coordinated in the job chat, and your payment stays protected in escrow until the work is actually done.
