Book a verified gasfitter in Canberra
Gas work is licensed work. Every gasfitter on HaT has their licence checked before they can offer — describe the job once and compare locked prices.
How it works
- 1
Describe it once
Tell HaT what's going on like you'd tell a mate — photos help. The AI scopes the job properly so you never repeat yourself to five different people.
- 2
Sealed offers come to you
Verified locals send real offers with locked prices. Bids are sealed — no one sees anyone else's — so what you compare is what they'll actually charge.
- 3
Pay when it's done
Your payment is held safely by HaT and released when the work is complete. If something isn't right, you can raise a dispute before any money moves.

Who you're booking
Gasfitter is a licensed trade. Every gasfitter on HaT is ID- and ABN-verified, and their gasfitting licence is checked against the relevant register before they can send you an offer — and the badge expires when the licence does. Tradies with current public liability cover carry a separate verified Insured badge.

Honest prices, not guesses
Offers on HaT are sealed: each tradie commits a real price without seeing anyone else's, so what you compare is what they'll actually charge — locked when you book, held safely until the work is done.

Gasfitter questions, answered plainly
I can smell gas — should I post a job?
Not first. If the smell is strong, turn the gas off at the meter, open windows, don't use switches or flames, and call the gas network's emergency line. HaT is for booking a licensed gasfitter to investigate, repair or service — not for a live emergency in progress.
Is gasfitting different from plumbing?
Yes — gasfitting is its own licence class, and not every plumber holds it. On HaT you don't need to know the difference: describe the job and it's routed to the right trade, and every gasfitter's licence is checked against the register before they can offer.
I'm going electric — can a gasfitter help?
Yes. Plenty of Canberra homes are replacing gas appliances with electric ones, and the gas side of that — disconnecting appliances, capping lines, decommissioning — is licensed gasfitting work. Describe what you're replacing and HaT will scope the gas work; the electrical side is a separate licensed trade, routed automatically.
