How do I describe a crack so I get accurate offers?
Photograph it with something for scale (a hand works), say how long it is and whether it's grown, and mention where it is — wall, ceiling, above a doorway. Hairline settling cracks and structural movement are very different jobs, and honest offers depend on seeing what you see.
My ceiling has water damage — plasterer first?
Fix the leak first — roof, plumbing, whatever caused it — or the new plaster is just a countdown to the next repair. If the leak's sorted, say so in the description and post the plastering; if it isn't, describe both problems and HaT will scope the trades in the right order.
Does plastering include painting?
No — plasterers finish the surface ready for paint (patched, sanded, smooth), and painting is its own trade. If you want both done, describe both in the one conversation and HaT will scope them properly rather than leaving you with a perfect patch in the wrong colour.
